River Renovation

I am totally unfamiliar with the Portneuf River in Pocatello but I am familiar with theGreen Belt In Idaho Falls and the river Park in Shelley.  Both of them are geared to individuals who just wanta walk, run or bike ride. A different activity that these two areas as well as a renovated park region of the Portneufin Pocatello might want to consider is a more naturalist approach.  Label the surrounding vegetation with placards showing the common and scientific name as well as if its indigineous or invasive, list if its edible or medicinal would be cool too.  Encourage bird watching and observations of animals by having informative signs as well as grown up scavenger hunts.  At sportsmens access points have charts identify the region's fish and if it is part of a natural population or is it stocked.  Many of the other ideas have been great like parks, playgrounds and climbing walls.
