Park Vision - ideas

Josh Nielsen • Jun 07, 2017

Some ideas for the park:

1. wading pond 2. interactive nature topics kiosk 3. bouldering/climbing wall 4. exercise activities 5. informational kiosk - varying topics 6. Japanes Garden

I think whatever design becomes reality should include activities that adults and children both can enjoy alone or together. A place to do and reflect.

Wastershed Tour or Field Trip?

Matt P • Jun 07, 2017

I *love* exposing my students to their local watershed. Students quickly grasp the connection between their daily activities and the quality of our water, henceforth, their surroundings. I've done this several ways: a field trip where we go up stream and discuss the impactors in our watershed and virtually through Google Maps/Earth. And I've done this as a class (field trip) and in small groups (virtually).

Water and our Valley

Jocelyn Hayes • Jun 07, 2017

In preparation for the digital storytelling that I will do for my middle school life science students I have taken some pictures of our most valuable resource.  I will be writing a digital story as part of my curriculum for next year.  I often include stories in my day to day teaching and my kids love it.  I may have them produce their own.  New learning, new things, and new ideas are what makes this profession outstanding.  (I hope the pictures don't post sideways.  There was not an option to rotate them.)
