A rough day indeed. A cool breeze, amazing wildflowers, and the sound of the Portneuf river in the background as we sit in the shade and discuss ecosystem services.
Ugh, I wish I was in a cubicle somewhere!

Assignments for digi-learners
I have commented on Blog posts and I am finding what you are doing super interesting. Can't wait to see what you do tomorrow. I have checked the assignments tab several times today and I don't see any requirements for digi-learners. Am I missing something?
Convincing
We began class by introducing ourselves to someone we did not know, learned about that person and introduced that person to the rest of the class. We were also asked to draw basically a half circle. (think the mouth of a smiley face) This half circle represents the Portneuf river. We individually labeled as many areas and points of interests on the river as we could think of. after working individually we were asked to work with a small group and collaborate on the same task. I was shoked to discover how little I know about the flow of the river that is in my area.

Science as a narrative
Today we learned to be compelling through our personal nature story. It is this connection that engages our students. We walked and observed beautiful things, ugly things, things we would change and what we would desire to preserve.
Monday's Trip
Here we were taking our first set of measurements at Edson Fichter park. We discussed the many social and scientific issues surrounding our ecosystem.
Beautiful Places
Today we spent time developing our own personal narrative. We also learned how to use the probes to test different water quality parameters. I loved spending time looking for things we saw and recognized as beautiful. Here are a few snapshots of that:
